Company for Sponsoring the Ambassador Andrew Young Lecture Series on

The
Ambassador Andrew Young Lecture Series on Africa features distinguished
speakers whose work has impacted and advanced awareness of US-Africa
relations. Named in honor of the former Chairman of The Africa Society
Board, the Series were launched in 2002 and are hosted at African
embassies on a rotational basis. We have organized a total of 13
lectures for the Series, which have attracted renowned personalities
like Professor Ali Mazrui; Congressman Donald Payne; Congresswoman
Barbara Lee; President Kenneth Kaunda; Assistant Secretary of State
for African Affairs, Dr. Jendayi Frazer; the Executive Secretary
of ECOWAS, Dr. Mohammed Ibn Chambas; Ghanaian Ambassador to the
US, His Excellency Dr. Kwame Bawuah-Edusei; Irish Entrepreneur and
Philanthropist and Founder of The Niall Mellon Township Initiative
in South Africa, Niall Mellon; and the Minister of Tourism and Diasporan
Affairs in Ghana, Honorable Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey.
